How do you work out the real cost of a finished product?
A finished product's cost is only as good as the material cost behind it. In AmalERP, production orders consume raw material against the Bill of Materials at its weighted-average cost, so each production run is a recorded, costed event rather than an estimate. Imported raw material enters stock at landed cost, with duty, freight and clearing spread across the shipment through the Import Purchase & Landed Cost module, so a price rise at the port reaches your product cost. How does job-work stay on the books?
Job-work goes wrong when material leaves for an outside processor and only comes back on paper. In AmalERP, job-work production is recorded like any other run: the material sent out is tracked as work-in-progress until the finished goods return, so nothing falls off the books while it sits at the contractor. The Job / Project Accounting module can also track cost, revenue and profit for a specific order or project when a customer's job needs its own profit report.
