A salary slip in Pakistan should show the employer and employee details, the pay period, earnings (basic salary plus allowances), and deductions — income tax under the FY2026-27 slabs, the employee's 1% EOBI contribution, provident fund and any advances — ending in net payable. There is no single legally mandated layout, but the tax and EOBI amounts must match what you actually deposit. Below are free templates with all of those fields, in Excel (totals auto-calculated), Word and printable PDF.

How much income tax do you deduct? (FY2026-27 slabs)
For salaried individuals in tax year 2026-27 (1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027), deduct monthly tax based on these annual slabs. Note the 9% high-income surcharge has been withdrawn for salaried individuals this year:
| Annual taxable salary (Rs) | Tax |
|---|---|
| Up to 600,000 | 0% |
| 600,001 – 1,200,000 | 1% of the amount over 600,000 |
| 1,200,001 – 2,200,000 | Rs 6,000 + 11% of the amount over 1,200,000 |
| 2,200,001 – 3,200,000 | Rs 116,000 + 20% of the amount over 2,200,000 |
| 3,200,001 – 4,100,000 | Rs 316,000 + 25% of the amount over 3,200,000 |
| 4,100,001 – 5,600,000 | Rs 541,000 + 29% of the amount over 4,100,000 |
| 5,600,001 – 7,000,000 | Rs 976,000 + 32% of the amount over 5,600,000 |
| Above 7,000,000 | Rs 1,424,000 + 35% of the amount over 7,000,000 |
Divide the annual tax by 12 for the monthly deduction, adjusting for bonuses and increments during the year. This is general information, not tax advice — confirm your calculation with your advisor.
How is EOBI shown on the salary slip — and what's the amount right now?
EOBI is contributed at 5% (employer) and 1% (employee) of the statutory minimum wage — the employee's 1% appears as a deduction on the slip. Here's the August 2026 nuance most guides miss: the federal Budget 2026-27 raised the minimum wage to Rs 40,700 from 1 July 2026, but as of early August the provincial gazette notifications and the EOBI notification adopting the new base are still pending — the provinces have not moved in step, and under the 18th Amendment it is your provincial gazette notification — not the federal budget figure — that legally binds you as an employer. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a higher figure than the federal one, Sindh has published a proposed schedule, and Punjab's labour department portal was still showing its previous notification when we checked in August 2026. Because the rates now differ by province and EOBI had not published a confirmed 2026-27 contribution base at the time of writing, check your own provincial labour department notification and confirm the EOBI base with EOBI directly before running payroll — then update the slip when your province gazettes.
Is a digital salary slip valid in Pakistan?
Yes — a salary slip generated by software and shared as a PDF (by email or WhatsApp) serves the same purpose as a printed one: it is the employee's record of earnings and deductions, used for loans, visas and tax. What matters is that the amounts are accurate and consistent with what you deposit for tax and EOBI.
When templates stop being enough
A template works for a handful of employees. It stops working when you're calculating tax slabs by hand for twenty people, tracking advances, and re-typing the same slip every month. AmalERP's Payroll & Salary module (Rs 1,200/month on the Basic plan) generates numbered payslips with earnings, deductions and EOBI handled automatically — and you can send them on WhatsApp.
